I was surprised when I got the postcard, surprised that the pen-pal was able to travel to Portugal in the times of COVID. Later, I learned that she had managed to go there (no virus in that area then) and come back home in November 2020, a few days before it became impossible, and the border was closed. Good, that she could enjoy her holidays and did not get grounded there.

 

 

Alvor is a seaside place and a fishing village in the very South of Portugal.

Strasbourg is the capital of the Bas-Rhin department and the capital of Grand Est region in France.
It is also the seat of quite a few organizations such as European Parliament, Eurocorps, European Court of Human Rights, all related to European Union.
